A Sub-6G SP32T Single-Chip Switch with Nanosecond Switching Speed for 5G Applications in 0.25 μm GaAs Technology

This paper presents a single-pole 32-throw (SP32T) switch with an operating frequency of up to 6 GHz for 5G communication applications. Compared the traditional SP32T module implemented by waveguide package large volume and power, proposed can significantly simplify system smaller size light weight. The scheme utilizing tree structure dramatically reduce dc power enhance isolation between different output ports, which makes it suitable low-power communication. A design methodology novel transmission (ABCD) matrix is optimize switch, achieve low insertion loss high simultaneously. average isolations are 1.5 35 dB at frequency, respectively. exhibits measured input return better than 10 GHz. 1 compression point 15 dBm. prototype designed in 5 V 0.25 μm GaAs technology occupies small area 12 mm2.
